Gluten-free Hamburger Recipe
Family craving junk food? This delicious recipe will give them their fix while still staying healthy.
Ground beef / Beef mince
Handful of chives or garlic chives
1 Tbsp mixed herbs
1 Tbsp tumeric
1 tsp garlic
Pinch of black pepper
1 Baby Cabbage
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius/375 Fahrenheit.
Cut onion in half and put aside one half for the sauce. Chop finely (or grate) the other half onion.
Chop chives finely. Beat egg. (Serious beating not required)
Mix mince, egg, chopped onion, chives, herbs and spices in a bowl.
Line an oven tray with tin foil. Form the mince mix into patties and place on tray. Remember to make patties larger and flatter than desired because they will contract as they cook.
Place tray in oven and cook for 25 minutes.
While the patties cook, slice the other half of the onion into rings. Cut the tomato and cheese into slices as well.
Pull the leaves off the cabbage. Try to keep the leaves in tact.
Once hamburgers have cooked (check patty is brown all the way through), serve as follows:
Place a cabbage leaf on the plates for each burger and top with onion rings.
Place burgers on top. Then place cheese on top of burgers (for that lovely melted cheese effect).
Place the tomato slices on top of the cheese.
