Healthy Custard Recipe
I'm a huge fan of custard so I was heart-broken when I couldn't have it on the diet. Once I discovered this recipe I was delighted. This recipe does include a small amount of oats so it is not gluten-free.
1 Tbsp Oat Bran (15ml)
1 tsp Xylitol (5ml)
1 tsp Vanilla Essence (5ml)
Mix milk, oat bran, xylitol and vanilla essence together.
Bring the mixture to the boil on the stove.
Beat the egg.
Once the milk mixture is boiling, stir in the egg.
Cook for two minutes while stirring.
Serve on its own or over berries or apple.
